2011-2012 Projects

 2011 marks the beginning of the Sesquicentennial celebration (150 years) of the American Civil War. Nancy Hanks Lincoln Tent joined with the San Diego Sons of Union Veterans, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and Sons of the Confederacy to mount a display of Civil War subjects at the San Diego Main Library from mid-April to the end of May. The Civil War groups intend additional memorial activities in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. 



 Memorial Day celebration at Mt. Hope Cemetery annually.







 In celebration of President Abraham Lincoln's 200th and Nancy Hanks Lincoln Tent 5 100th birthdays, we created a book telling the stories of our Civil War Ancestors, entitled Our Historical Heritage.  Copies of the  book have been placed in selected San Diego County libraries, and one copy was donated to the National Headquarters library in Springfield, Illinois.
